The corporation is a non-profit public benefit corporation x x organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for public and charitable purposes.
The specific purposes for which this corporation is organized are: (1) to promote the cultural arts of the Kalinga (then) hill tribe of northern Philippines contributing to the enrichment of the arts within our present communities; (2) to teach and disseminate educational materials to the public, including but not limited to, materials relating to the history, indigenous culture and traditional folk arts of the Kalinga tribal people, accompanied by educational workshops and seminars; and (3) to undertake other programs and projects which are purely charitable in nature.
This corporation is organized and operated exclusively for cultural, educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c)(3).
Tax Exempt-Status
In April 2004, the corporation gained its tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service under Internal Revenue Code Section 501©(3). As such, donations to the corporation, subject to IRS limitations, can be tax-deductible by donors when filing their yearly income taxes.
